Lotus is a 150 bedded hospital dedicated exclusively for the needs of children. Located right in the heart of the city, lotus is the most advanced center technologically as well as by design, suited particularly for the needs of patients. Right from the drawing board to the final building design, meticulous attention has been given to creating an environment that ensures smooth workflow with maximum priority to emergency services.
The emergency services are located on level 1 with Critical Care Transport (Two custom designed and equipped ambulances) on 24 hour standby.
The emergency room was designed based on the 'Shock Trauma Centers' available in developed world, with the room forming the nucleus of action for providing the critical care during the 'golden fish hour' of resuscitation.
Critical Care & Surgery:
Critical Care and pediatric surgical services are located on level 3 of the building. The concept of this floor kept in mind the need to allow family and visitors to actually see their children receive advanced intensive care therapy, without entering sterile patient care zones.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit:
The center comprises of twelve critical care cots in a unique "NEOPOD' design. Each Neopod can accommodate three nenonates and is a self contained unit with its own wash area, supplies storage and air conditioning. This is an innovative modular design that facilitates sterilization when needed, without interrupting routine work. Each cot is equipped with an advanced ventilator, invasive and noninvasive monitoring systems, fluid infusion pumps, etc. Facilities for High Frequency Ventilation and Inhaled Nitric Oxide Therapy are located here within the Neopods.
Th Neopod Command Center is equipped with Central Computer linked to the Hospital information system to ensuring quick clinical decisions. Adjacent to the Neopod is the High Dependency Unit providing care for sick infants not requiring mechanical ventilatory support.
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit:
Lotus has ten beds dedicated to Pediatrics Intensive Care Unit. The center boasts of an oval centrally located nursing station thus ensuring direct line of vision of all patients admitted in the ICU.
Four Beds are designated critical and are equipped with advanced ventilators, invasive and noninvasive monitoring systems, including facilities for end tidal CO2 and cardiac output computing. Two beds in this unit are geared for providing hemodialysis and hemoprfusion. Portable X ray Unit which is specially designated is available.
The Surgical Unit:
A fully equipped operation theater is located between two intensive care units.
Ultra Clean Sterile Environment and operation theater is provided with Ultrafine HEPA Filtera(0.3 Micron), the Airconditioned Intensive Care Units,
Medical and Nursing Care:
Lotus has finest consultants in critical care pediatrics and neonatology, unit coverage with a consutant is ensured 24x7 at all times. Lotus nursing staff have been carefully recruited and trained by our critical care consultants.
24 Hour Diagnostic and Radiology Support:
Lotus hospital is equipped with the latest generation automated laboratory equipment like CT Scan, X Ray with Fluoroscopy & Image Intensifier System and Computerized Radiography, & Ultrasound/ Echocardiography. The first Children's hospital to provide in the private sector to have computed Tomography in the country.
